How should CHOICE use our new super power?

CHOICE has been given the power to make ‘designated complaints’ to the consumer watchdog, the ACCC. Similar to the UK’s ‘super complaints’ function, the new power will enable CHOICE to make priority complaints on a small number of significant or systemic consumer issues and the ACCC must publicly respond within 90 days. Ordinarily, complaints to the ACCC do not require a public response and are not subject to any timeframe requirements.

CHOICE is exploring consumer problems that could form the basis of a designated complaint now. Take a moment to have your say to help inform a future designated complaint.

If your issue involves multiple businesses, choose the option most relevant or select Other.
